Important Note:This is the most challenging cycling day trip due to its steep uphill sections, followed by several short ascents and descents. We will reach Marangu village for lunch and other tour activities, including visits to waterfalls, a coffee tour, and a walk through the historical tunnel.
Our cycling adventure will begin at Kawawa Road village, heading toward Kirua Vunjo. Along the way, we will pass by the home of Mangi Mosha before stopping for a refreshing Coca-Cola and snacks. From there, we will continue on to Kilema Village, crossing several rivers before reaching Marangu village, our main destination for the day's ride. On clear days, you'll be treated to breathtaking views of Kilimanjaro as we cycle through stunning landscapes, passing by coffee and banana plantations in Kirua, Kilema, and Marangu.
On Tuesdays and Fridays, a local market takes place in Marangu, offering an opportunity to interact with the local residents. We will pass through farms growing bananas, coffee, and tomatoes, following a winding path that leads to stunning views. Along the way, we will cross several rivers before reaching the larger Muwe River further down the mountain. Both rivers are essential water sources for the local communities and play a significant role in agriculture. As we cycle from village to village, we will pause at scenic viewpoints to enjoy breathtaking views of Kilimanjaro's two main peaks: Kibo and Mawenzi.
After lunch, we will walk downhill to Ndoro Waterfalls, followed by a visit to the Chagga cultural site for a coffee tour and a chance to explore the historical tunnel. This day promises an enriching experience, filled with adventure, culture, and breathtaking natural beauty. Once all the tour activities are complete, we will either cycle or drive back to Moshi town.
