4 DAYS HIKING MOUNT MERU

4 DAYS HIKING MOUNT MERU.

For successful Mount Kilimanjaro climbers, Mount Meru is the ideal location for acclimatization before ascending Mount Kilimanjaro. Mount Meru features a single route to the summit and back down to the gate. Although it can be attempted in three days, we highly recommend a total of four days for the climb. Mount Meru, standing at 4,566 meters (14,980 feet), serves as an excellent warm-up for those planning to conquer Kilimanjaro. The trek exposes climbers to high altitudes, allowing their bodies to adjust to lower oxygen levels before facing the challenges of Kilimanjaro. This acclimatization reduces the risk of altitude-related illnesses on Africa's highest peak.

Climbing Details Climbing Mount Meru takes four days, but it can be completed in three days, the only one route up and down in the same way that is the Momella route, which offers a mix of rainforest, alpine meadows, and rocky terrain. Hikers stay in huts along the way, with basic but comfortable facilities at different campsites. Spending time at high altitudes helps prepare your body for the ascent of Kilimanjaro, while not as demanding as Kilimanjaro, climbing Meru requires a good level of fitness. The route provides opportunities to spot diverse wildlife in Arusha National Park.

Opting for a four-day climb on Mount Meru enhances your chances of successfully summiting Kilimanjaro. The best time to climb is during the dry season from June to October. Climbing Mount Meru is not only a rewarding experience in its own right but also strategically beneficial for those intending to summit Mount Kilimanjaro. By allowing your body to acclimatize, you increase your chances of a successful and enjoyable climb. For Complete Itinerary and Details of 4-Days Climbing Mount Meru, click the link below.
