Moshi is a Tanzanian municipality, a small and beautiful town at the foot of the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro 5895m, The town has remarkable scenery and striking views of the mountain from every corner of the town. Moshi sits at an altitude of about 900 meters and hence has cool weather for most of the year particularly in village areas. 1: Mount Kilimanjaro day hike up and down ($150 Per Person)
This will offer the tourist a walk under the montane rain forest, looking for towering Eucalyptus trees, bird life, Colubus monkeys, blue-black monkeys, sometime dik-dik, bush duikers, White-Tailled mongoose, Marsh mongoose, Bushbaby/Galagos White-nicked raven, and many others.
Note that; at these lower elevations sometimes, it can be wet and muddy as it is named rain forest, sometimes Shorts and T-shirts should be sufficient, always keep your rain gear and warmer clothing handily with you from starting to the end.
Our destination for this climb is Mandara Hut 2730m after getting in Mandara Hut tourists will sign in and then we will have the opportunity extensional walk to Maundi Crater which offers views of North-East of Tanzania then likely see Lake Challa situated between the border of Tanzania and Kenya, after that, we will go back to Mandara hut for lunch and little rest before we start hiking down to the Marangu gate that will be the end of our package. Then transfer back to Moshi town.
2: Materuni Waterfalls and Coffee Tour: ($85 Per Person)
Materuni Waterfalls is an incredible booming waterfall located close to Moshi town just 15 kilometers and 45 minutes drive from Moshi Town, the area can be reached on a bike day tour.
Tourists will have the opportunity to stand underneath the waterfall, even jump off one and go swimming in the refreshing water, at the bottom of the waterfall through the typical river, vegetation in a neighborhood of coffee and banana trees all over round, The waterfalls is almost more than 80 meters high.
When combined with a coffee tour in the village, it makes for a perfect day trip on your free day before or after your Kilimanjaro climb or wildlife safari. The tour begins by observing the entire process of making a cup of coffee, from seed. After a locally produced lunch, you head off to explore the Materuni Waterfall. Before we get back to Moshi town later on
3: Kikuletwa/Chemka Hot springs: ($85 Per Person)
Kikuletwa/Chemka Hot Springs gets its name from the water that bubbles in underground caves. Chemka is an incredible underground spring with crystal clear water bubbling from underground caves, giving the impression that it is boiling, hence the name "CHEMKA" the Swahili word that means boil,
In fact, the water is not hot rather it gives out a pleasant temperature for swimming, and is a good place to visit for a picnic and a swim. This area is surrounded by fig trees and is a hidden gem amid a semi-arid landscape.
Chemka is located close to Moshi town in a Rundugai village between Moshi and Arusha about 40 km from Moshi town. the area is a perfect resting place after too much stress from the Kilimanjaro climb or once you get a free day in your hand make it useful by visiting Chemka/Hot Springs.
