4 DAYS CYCLING TOUR AND MTB KILIMANJARO

The Package is the enjoyable cycling packages but it need tourist to have much cycling experience before they decide to book this package, this offer cyclist to cycle uphills and downhills over the slope of mount Kilimanjaro villages to villages, for the aim of learm culture and its historical sites in closed relation to the local people and share some pleasant local stories and thereafter later climb the mount Kilimanjaro one day up and down to the Marangu villages, this special day need tourist to have much cycling enduarance otherwise will be very tough to success in this unique day of cycling.

Highlights; The cycle will start at Moshi and switch to eastside of mount Kilimanjaro, through deferent villages which Uru villages, Kidia villages,, oldmoshi villages, Kirua vunjo villages, Kilema villages, Marangu villages and spend some days in Marangu due to climb kilimanjaro and back to Marangu. The ride can be done pre-climbing or post-climbing of mount Kilimanjaro. after the day ride up and down from mount Kilimanjaro extend to lake chala which ending up our cycling before turning back to Moshi town for departure.

DAY 1: MOSHI TOWN TO MARANGU VILLAGES

In the morning after breakfast we will departure Moshi and cycling to Kirua village in this area and all the way up and down the Marangu villages we will be viewing many things on the road especially the way the chagga people living share some traditional story.

Their cash crops is mainly coffee and food crops are Bananas and maize as local and traditional food, the most interesting in the road is uphill about 15 kms thereafter we will ride downhill and uphill till kilema village there also posibble to go for local markets and finally go to Marangu whether lodge or campsite for overnight ready for next day but if time and fitness allow us to have a futher ride we can do so, distance is 45 kms very challenging.

DAY 2: FULL DAY AT MARANGU VILLAGES

Today we will spend full day in Marangu villages, the second day of our cycling, In the morning after breakfast we will cycling to the deferent water falls in Marangu which are Ndoro waterfalls, Kinuka, Mori waterfalls and Kilasia waterfalls, local market Chagga cultural site, caves and later afternoon we will cycling towards Marangu Kilimanjaro enterace gate which is the oldest gate into Kilimanjaro mountain.

DAY 3; MARANGU VILLAGE TO HOROMBO HUT

This is special and very challenging day that we will ride Kilema gate, the will be uphill to mount Kilimanjaro through Kilema gate to horombo hut 3720m if we still have a power we can go much further. As we departure from kilema gate soon we will start the rainforest, look for towering Eucalyptus trees, bird life, and Colubus monkeys, at these lower elevations, it can be wet and muddy as it named rain forest, keep your rain gear and warmer clothing handily with you.

To be honest this day is not easy but it is possible, so we should set our mind that we are going to cycling uphill to second station toward the highest mountain in Africa, your all welcome to challenge your fitness, after horombo hut 3720m take many pictures as you can break and then go back to marangu village to overnight till the next ride to lake challa, downhill is very easy but you should pay attention to that guys.

Note that this can be more expensive because we will cycling inside of Kilimanjaro national park and climb the mountain with our mountain bike up to half way to the top then come back to marangu village in the same day and back to the Marangu villages.

DAY 4: MARANGU VILLAGES TO LAKE CHALLA

Today ride is simple to get lake Chala, the way is both rough and tarmac road more downhill compare to uphills but is the team is fit enough we will visit Marangu entrace gate and explore the climbing tour activities out there before turnin back to lake Chala.

Lake Chala has a huge variety of amazing trees, grasses and plants; some are unique to the area. According to the time of year there are hundreds of species of butterflies and birds, including spectacular birds of prey. The African Fish Eagle, with its hunting techniques, Verreaux’s Eagle, Augur Buzzards and many other species of birds can be seen around the crater walls.

Wild mammals do varies from monkeys to baboons again from dik-dik to kudu, to elephant. Chala is an untouched part of a truly ancient land and a must visit place. The lake is located in a stunning volcanic area on the eastern slopes of Mount Kilimanjaro. Depending on the time of year, its colors range from a vibrant turquoise to a rich emerald green, reflecting a timeless beauty that is etched in Tanzania’s soul. Later afternoon we will start cycling to Moshi town back to the hotel and this will be the end of our package services.
