So who's behind this website?
Afritreks.com is made and maintained by me, Morten. I'm 31 years old and live in Copenhagen, Denmark.
I enjoy travelling and hiking/trekking. I've been so lucky to visit The Himalayas, The Atlas Mountains, The Rocky Mountains, Kilimanjaro, The Andes Mountains, The Alps and ehhh - of course - our neighbour Norway's beautiful mountains. Some of the places outside Europe I've visited include India, Nepal, Thailand, Venezuela, North America, Morocco, Kenya, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe, and South Africa. All of them beautiful and great, but one continent just rises above the others when it comes to stunning nature. Africa. Unfortunately a lot of people refrain from going there because they find it scary. It is not.
Africa offers some excellent trekking. You can reach the highest point, Uhuru point on Kilimanjaro, without any technical climbing. Also Africa is cheap and it definetely needs and deserves your money
I've often found it hard to get information on trekking in Africa and that's why I've made this site. I have no economical interest in any of the places I recommend. Though this site is Africa-related no one can bribe me to get a link here.
Because this site is made in my spare time I don't have money nor time to keep all the information up-to-date. I try hard though but if you find any information to be out-dated or in-correct please let me know. Afritreks.com only gets better with your help.
